Occurs generally in hill and mountain forests with some species found in peat swamp forests.





General Description

Sapwood is not defined from the heartwood, which is buff with a pinkish tinge or golden brown. Grain is straight. Texture is very fine and even. Vessels are absent. Tracheids are in radial rows. Wood parenchyma is indistinct. Rays are uniseriate and narrow.
